Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif



Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was born on 23rd September 1951. The younger brother of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Shebaz is considered one of Pakistan’s leading and senior politicians who has thrice served as Chief Minister of Punjab. He recently served as the Chief Minister of Punjab, from June 2013 to May 2018. Shehbaz Sharif is known as a staunch administrator who has multiple development projects against his name in Punjab. With sheer dedication and commitment Shehbaz’s administration took the province of Punjab to greater heights and is considered one of the most developed province in the country. His sons Hamza and Salman Shehbaz have now also entered into politics. He was recently appointed as President of Pakistan Muslim League (N). In the upcoming general election Shebaz Sharif is contesting for a seat in the National Assembly from three different constituencies: NA 132 – From Lahore NA 249- From Karachi NA – 3- Swat

Political History:

Shehbaz Sharif was elected as member of the Provincial Assembly for the first time in 1988. Although his term was prematurely ended after the assemblies were dissolved in 1990, he was re- elected for the second time post elections. In 1993 he was again victorious from the provincial assembly seat for the 3rd time. He served as Chief Minister Punjab thrice in 1997, 2008 and 2013.
